Of course, there were several other 325 models that RIC has produced before the c series models, but I can't offer comment about them.īarry, playing a short scale Ric from the first to the 21st fret is like playing a full scale guitar between the 4th and 24th fret. I am a Beatle fan and getting the 325c64 was (after a 2 1/2 year wait) pretty exciting. But happily I have not found that a problem on my new 325. I have never tried the '58 but I'd guess if that's the one you have seen, and it has not been modded, you may not love the Kaufman vibrato.īy the way, there has been a fair amount of chat about the roller bridge on the 325c64 and a negative affect on the string sound, esp. RIC decided to make the '58 to resemble the original as it was delivered to Lennnon, with no modifications. By all accounts the '58 version's Kaufman vibrato is pretty difficult to use - of course, John Lennon himself had it replaced with a Bigsby. '64 comes with the Accent, which it seems works pretty well, although I am not a vibrato user. As it comes from RIC the vibratos are different. It is a fairly small guitar, and I find it quite comfortable. Bearing in mind that I consider myself among the "beginner" class of players, I just took delivery on a 325c64 recently, and I don't see the issue with player the short scale.
